Hidden deep in the southern alps the Invincible Snow Field holds an almost mythical place in the NZ snow world ( it’s real! )
Invincible Snowfields is a private ski resort near Glenorchy in the South Island of New Zealand. The area is about one hour’s drive west of Queenstown and is close to Lake Wakatipu.
Hosting just 6 guests at a time while staying for 4 nights in our cosy Alpine Hut at 1650 m.a.s.l you will have your own private ski field as well as exclusive access to our backcountry area for 5 days. Totalling somewhere north of 950HA this is by far New Zealand’s most relaxed, uncrowded and unique ski experience.
At Invincible Snowfields we run in a similar fashion to New Zealands iconic club ski fields.
During this time the mountain and backcountry is yours to enjoy how you wish. We take the hassle out of trip planning and provide you with an experience unique within New Zealand.

FACILITIES
Access to the field is by helicopter from a site close to Glenorchy. The only accommodation available is a 10-person hut equipped with a wood fire and gas stove.
The field is part of Rees Valley Station, a 7290ha high country sheep station. Extensive snow cover on this property led to the development of both heli-skiing and the Invincible Snowfields operation.
Visitors to the field need to fend for themselves, carrying ski-touring equipment to ensure their own safety. This includes staying in a group and wearing an beacon.
There are definitely benefits to having your lift start at 1642.6m.
